Withdraw selected Appeal applications

You can withdraw one or more selected Appeal applications found by searching. The status of the selected applications must be Appeal Lodged or Appeal Decided.

Withdrawing applications

  1. Use the General Search screen to find the applications, and select them.

    Tell me how

  2. Click Actions and select Withdraw Application.

If any of the selected applications do not have the correct status, ASSURE warns you that they will be ignored.

A Withdrawal of Application dialog opens.

  3. Tick Make Public? if you want the withdrawn application to be visible in the Planning Explorer. This overrides the Exclude from Explorer setting and is also shown at the top of the screen.

  4. Specify whether the application has been Withdrawn By the Council (which is the default) or the Applicant, the Withdrawal Date, and any explanatory Notes.

  5. Click Complete.

For each application, ASSURE adds a decision where the Decision Type is Withdrawn and the Decision Date is the withdrawal date. The Appeal application status becomes Appeal Withdrawn.

  6. Click OK to acknowledge.

No further changes can be made to the withdrawn applications, apart from post-decision actions, although the Letters tab remains available. If necessary, a withdrawn application can be resurrected.

Note

For a Planning Appeal application the status of the linked Planning application changes to Final Decision, unless there are other outstanding appeals.

For a Planning Enforcement Appeal application the status of the linked Planning Enforcement application is either Complete (if there was a decision) or Formal (if there wasn't).
