How to use the ASSURE Help

On the menu bar, click Support and then Online Help to open a related topic in the ASSURE Help window. This topic provides some basic information about the screen you are currently working on. If you need more information, use the What do you want to learn about? and What do you want to do? topic links at the bottom of the topic. Alternatively, you can search the Help or use the Contents pane to find topics.
Searching for information
There is a Search control at the top of the ASSURE Help screen.

-
Type the word or phrase that you are looking for.
-
By default, the search looks at All Files. To narrow the scope of the search, select an option from the drop-down list.
-
Click the magnifying glass icon or press Return.
The search results appear, starting with the most relevant topics. Each result has a link to the topic, plus a short description of that topic to provide some context.
-
The search results are ranked, primarily according to the number of times each search word appears in the topics and whether they appear in headings or within the body of the topics. When you open a topic, the search words are automatically highlighted.
-
Click the Remove Highlights
icon at the top left-hand corner of Content pane to remove the search highlights from the topic.
-
All searches are case-insensitive, but results that match the case of the search words are ranked higher than those that do not.
-
All searches automatically include stem matching. So a search for Edit would also find Editing and Editor. However, exact matches are ranked higher than stem matches.
-
To search for an exact phrase, enclose it in double quotes. For example, type: "fee exemptions" to find topics that include that phrase. (However, some common words are automatically ignored when searching.)
For more complex searches, you can use boolean AND, OR and NOT operations, and group expressions with parentheses. The following table gives some examples.
Example |
Description |
---|---|
fee exemptions fee OR exemptions |
Finds topics that contain either "fee" or "exemptions". This is the default search mode. |
fee AND exemptions |
Finds topics that contain both "fee" and "exemptions". |
"fee exemptions" |
Finds topics that contain the phrase "fee exemptions". |
fee NOT exemptions |
Finds topics that do contain "fee" but not "exemptions". |
(fee AND exemptions) NOT Planning |
Finds topics that contain both "fee" and "exemptions", but not "Planning". |
Navigating by using the Contents
The left-side pane shows hierarchical structure of the Help.
-
To expand or view an entry, click the corresponding contents item.
-
To close (collapse) an entry, click its up-arrow icon.
The position of the current topic within the Contents is shown in "breadcrumb" links at the top of the topic.
Bookmarking a topic
Help topics can be bookmarked in exactly the same way as any other web page.
Printing a topic
-
Click the Print icon at the top-left hand corner of the topic to view a printable version of the topic in a print preview screen.
Confirm the settings and select the appropriate printer to print the topic.
