Configure property defaults

  1. On the System Administration screen, click Configure Properties.

    The Configure Properties screen appears.

  2. On the General tab, tick Edit if you want any current alerts set on an address to be displayed automatically whenever the relevant Property or Organisation record is opened.

  3. On the Public Protection tab, specify the following details.

    Description

    Authority Code Mandatory

    Whether the Authority field on the Address tab of Property and Organisation records is mandatory for In Area (in-area) and Outside Area (out-of-area) addresses.

    Main Property Use Code Mandatory

    Whether the Main Use fields on the Property Use and Trading Standards tabs are mandatory.

    Area Code Mandatory

    Whether the Area field on the Address tab is mandatory.

    Copy Commercial Area from Street

    Whether the Area field should be copied from the associated Street record to the Commercial Area field on the Property Use tab.

    Trading Standards

    Whether Property and Organisation records should include a Trading Standards tab.

    Property Close Action

    The action to be recorded on the Actions tab when a property or organisation is closed.

    Property Reopen Action

    The action to be recorded on the Actions tab if a property or organisation is reopened.

    UK Authority Use

    The Property Use code that identifies an out-of-area organisation as a UK local authority.

  4. On the Corporate LPG tab, under Public Protection, specify the following options for Corporate LPG Street records.

    Use POSTTOWN on address display

    Whether the Corporate LPG Property Post Town field should be included when displaying addresses, and if so whether its Relative Position should be before, after, or replacing the Corporate LPG Street Town field .

    Suppress Street LOCALITY on address display

    Whether the Corporate LPG Street Locality field should be omitted when displaying addresses.

    Suppress Street TOWN on address display

    Whether the Corporate LPG Street Town field should be omitted when displaying addresses.

    Suppress Street COUNTY on address display

    Whether the Corporate LPG Street County field should be omitted when displaying addresses.

    Create PI/9s*

    Whether to create open, closed, or no ASSURE Street records from Corporate LPG Street records.

    • Create Open

    • Create Closed

    • Don't Create

    Officer

    The officer who is nominally responsible for closing ASSURE Street records.

    * The Street Reference of an ASSURE Street record is PI/9 followed by an 8-digit street number; for example PI/900001776.

    The following settings are used by the LLPG Updates schedule when updating the ASSURE gazetteer from your authority's Corporate LPG; the first two relate to the Address tab of the ASSURE Property record.

    Description

    Update Area from ONS Code

    Whether the ONS Ward or Parish code (or neither) will update the ONS Ward/Parish and Area fields by a lookup on the ONS Ward/Parish code type:

    • Ward

    • Parish

    • None

    Update Authority from Custodian Code

    Whether the LPG Custodian code will update the Authority field by a lookup on the Custodian code type.

    Close Properties / Organisations with no open linked records

    Whether the schedule should, for a closed LPG Property record, automatically close any dependent Property or Organisation record that has no open linked records.

    Officer for closing Properties / Organisations

    The officer nominally responsible for closing these properties and organisations.

  5. Click Save and Exit.
