Configure default GIS settings

If your authority has licensed the option to use Geographical Information Services (GIS) to display maps in ASSURE, you can configure various default settings.

  1. On the System Administration screen, click GIS Settings.

    The GIS Administration screen appears.

  2. Click Default Settings.

    The GIS Default Settings screen appears.

    Enables and disables the ability of public users to use the map.

    Defines a help page, formatted by HTML, that public users can access when they use the Map Search screen.

    • Click View Map Help to review the current help.

    EnablePlotBoundaryForPlanning

    Allows an applicant to plot the site boundary in a Planning application.

    Allows an applicant to plot the site boundary in a Building Control application.

    EnablePlotBoundaryForEnquiry

    Allows an enquirer or complainant to plot the site boundary in an Enquiry and Complaint application.

    EnableLCSpatialQuery

    Adds and removes a Spatial Query button on the Land Charges Search Request screen.

    This setting is intended to be used for troubleshooting. Normally, a spatial query is performed automatically as part of the Validate function.

  3. Click the Edit button of the parameter that you want to configure.

    The editable and non-editable settings of that parameter are displayed.

  4. Make the required changes.

  5. Click Save.

    Repeat for each setting that you want to change.

  6. Click Cancel when you have finished making changes.

  7. Click Back to return to the System Administration screen.
